When you look at the non-revenue sports facilities at Michigan, you need to ask yourself how much of the money to build them came from private donors.

For example, the women's gymnastics facility (built in 2002) received a $3.5M gift from Donald R. Shepherd. I imagine Stephen Ross paid for the athletic academic center since it has its name on it.

I don't have a quick reference for what private donors have given for buildings that support non-revenue sports at Michigan. Maybe wingedvictory could give us some insight?
