1. They still think of Michigan as "the program in crisis" even though Sherrone is gone and completely irrelevant to this team.
2. There's probably some of them who genuinely think that Stalions gave us a competitive advantage and therefore that 2021-23 were anomalous.
3. They look at the struggling Bryce that we saw late last season and don't seem to understand that a true freshman is going to be better as a sophomore when he has superior coaching, more competent pass protection, and a much better receiving corps.
4. They turn a difficult schedule into a self-fulfilling prophecy. They know that the CFB Committee is not going to give proper weight to a tough schedule and so they want to be right in advance. "See, I knew that Penn State would be a playoff team."
