Really depends on the crack. But since it's clean through the door, you should start with wood glue. Lots of it, and work it into the crack. I'd also clamp the door from both sides using woodworking pipe clamps. Then if there are still gaps after you glue/clamp, go in with epoxy wood filler**

I don't know, but we had a door refinishing company fix all of our doors a few years ago. May be worth sending one a picture and see what they recommend*

I've seen that fixed with elastomer caulk which can expand and contract with the crack. Easy to fill and paint over*
