Sometimes things that sound fine in the abstract run into a reality that is a lot different than people think will be the case. You might *think* you can handle listening to your wife getting fucked by someone else, but you don't really *know* that to be the case until it actually happens. Suddenly you're comparing how much she seems to be enjoying it with how much she seems to enjoy it with you, start wondering whether he is "better" or bigger or better looking or whatever than you are. Those insecurities -- fundamentally emotional -- can be crippling, no matter what your rational brain tells you.
