So you don't prefer the small school; what does your daughter truly prefer? Some general comments ...

Some comments from our experience:
Both our daughters picked environments that were great fits for them at that time in their lives. We were living in Kansas. Both wanted out of KS; nothing against KU or KSU, they just felt it would be a larger gathering of their respective high school classes.
Both were accepted at Michigan and other locations. Oldest wanted to play soccer (both were good players), and did so for 4 years (started x4, captain) at a small school in Iowa four hours away from home. That experience, i.e. the consistent discipline needed to play plus excel in school was a great fit. The youngest wanted a big school environnment, and went to Michigan (12hrs away); that too, was a very good experience for her (and yes, she can tell you about any bar in the Ann Arbor area) :).
Today, I do wonder if the older one would pick a larger school envirnment, but at the time, the small school absolutely fit.
