My daughter-in-law is in a similar situation.

I shouldn't be concerned for her future here in the U.S. but until she attains citizenship status, I'll always worry for her. Even then, the fascist creeps will look for ways to revoke citizenship, so I guess this will always be an issue. Not great but also not hopeless I guess.
