Michigan has only rear license plates. Many feel that if they back in (most of my Detroit neighbors even back into their own driveways), the cops can't see their plates to check them for being expired, etc. Also, a few years ago Royal Oak renovated metered lots which required back in for the meter to read your plate.

What bothers me is when idiots come into a small lot with angled spaces that make it ridiculously easy to just pull in, but they have to maneuver and finagle and waste time backing in. Also, if cameras make it so easy to back up, why don't most people know how to back up to turn around? Why does it take them several attempts? I can do it in one try with only mirrors. Maybe if they put their phones down for 10 seconds...

And WTF is with people who park three feet from the curb?
