This has been litigated to death, but he continuously made mistakes that his critics were able to define in advance with precision, explaining how and why those choices would fail, and be proven repeatedly correct. In addition, though less precisely, the defense generally looked disjointed, and busted constantly. The preregistered critique that he was focused on NFL-style playcalling and could not teach the techniques to players that would enable them to execute those plays at a high level described what happened quite well.
