NBC’s replay showed the stadium clock hitting zero before the WMU player touched the ball
The notion that the controversy was based on the graphical game clock is just not correct. The problem was that NBC’s camera showing the action was not properly synced to the camera showing the stadium clock.

- But the NBC footage was not what the officials were watching.
- ^^^ This. The NBC "replay" (which was part of the "broadcast feed") showed the Stadium Clock "synced," but it wasn't properly synced. The Big Ten Replay ("program feed") was. **
- I think there is a little difference for the casual viewer that sees NBC overlay their footage of the scoreboard clock with their slo mo video replay
