FWIW, the Oklahoma and Texas games were scheduled over a decade ago after Notre Dame opted to become a semi-independent member of the ACC.

If you really believe Manuel is the sole stakeholder when it comes to OOC games, you need to think again.

        My central point is that a team's record is not reflective of its actual quality because of how lopsided schedules are now.
