He smiled at me and said, "What did I do to make you hate me so much?". We both laughed.

He and the other people he was with waxed poetic about the Pac 8/10/12 and said they'd love to go back to the old conference structure. I said it was a shame that California and Stanford weren't included in the Big Ten expansion move.

Travel and logistics wise, having a six team western "division" within the Big Ten would have made a lot of sense. Each of those teams would have the majority of their games in the Pacific Time Zone with two trips eastward.
