Wolvalum's post about do-gooders approaching him while parking reminded me of the time I got the stinkeye and then chastised by a couple of wrinklies as I left my car. "Where's your handicap sticker," they sneered. Somewhat puzzled, I realized that they thought I was parked in a handicap spot, but I wasn't. I pointed out to them that the spot next to the handicap spot that has a yellow line on the one side and a blue on the other is not a handicap spot. They shook their heads and walked away in a huff.

Then there was the time Lardnar and I were driving to the 1984 Sugar Bowl. We were pulling into a rest stop in Illinois and the lot was packed with holiday travelers. I was driving the car lent to my buddy, Scott, by his grandmother, which had a handicap license plate. We were all desperate to pee and there was one handicap van accessible spot. "Take the spot Brew, we have a plate!" Being a bit of a do-gooder, I asked how we would feel if we took the spot from someone who actually needed it and I proceeded to park a couple hundred feet down the way. The groans were deafening. As we were leaving the restroom, a van had taken the spot and to my great pleasure, the driver was activating the wheelchair lift. Check. Mate.

In all seriousness, I'm big on nuance and context. Judge not, lest ye be judged. Etc. In fact, my very low posting volume is probably best explained by my preference for nuance. Right margin threads don't have much nuance.
